My Changes to this pattern

BACK:

  1. Cast on 50 sts in MY, using TD7, Stocking stitch and closed edge method.
  2. Work 34 rows.
  3. Mark this row at both ends for armhole.
  4. Work 26 more rows. Total 60 rows.
  5. Put from zero to opposite side of carriage to HP, set carriage to Hold.
FRONT: First side worked is on carriage side.
  1. Set row counter to zeros.
  2. Knit across first half of stitches.
  3. Bind off 10 stitches, then cast on those same needles.
  4. Work to row 26 and mark outside for sleeve placement.
  5. Work 34 rows to row counter 60.
  6. Bind Off.
  7. Now for the other front piece, you will start off by binding off first 10 stitches and then casting on those again. Repeat as for other front piece.
SLEEVES:
  1. Hang side of sweater from marker to marker and work sleeves from the top down.
  2. I did decrease 1 stitch each side every 11th row.
  3. Work even to total 40 rows.
  4. Bind off loosely.
  5. Repeat for the other sleeve
FINISHING:
  1. Sew side and sleeve seams.
  2. Finish open edges of cardigan fronts; some suggestions are: crochet edging, knitted in band for buttons and buttonholes or a zipper.
  3. Finish neckline edges.
  4. Darn/weave/sew in all loose ends.

Now when your making this for a larger size, sewing the shoulder seams will help give it more stability, or you can do some sort of crochet accent or even some embroidery on the shoulder seams as well.
