Other Intarsia Charts for Christmas Stockings

Candy Cane, Christmas Tree, Santa Face (you may have to make the leg longer for this one) or search with your favorite Search Engine for 'Christmas Intarsia Charts', I am sure you can find other ones or even work up a Single Motif from a punch card

Small Christmas Stocking

  1. Cast on 34 live stitches
  2. Knit 24 rows and hang first row on the needles to form the folded hem
  3. Reset counter to zero's
  4. Knit 24 rows
  5. Put half the needles opposite the carriage to HP and set carriage to hold (in the video for the brother machines, I said to put both part buttons in but you just move the little lever from N to H is all)
  6. Knit short rows on the first part so that you have 7 stitches in work in the center and then 5 stitches on each end right of zero to HP
  7. Now reverse short row back until all 12 stitches are back in work.
  8. Take carriage off Hold and reset counter to zero's
  9. Knit 12 rows for the foot
  10. Repeat the short and reverse short rows as before
  11. Take off on WY and then graft that last row to itself and sew up the back seam
  12. Crochet a chain for a hanger

Here is a photo of Tammy's small Christmas Stocking being used to hold the eating utensils. She plans on the whole table being that way, I think that is superb. She also made her own claw weights.
