Flat Bed Christmas Stocking generator
I have created a Spreadsheet with the math needed to make your own Christmas Stockings for any machine with your swatch gauge.
Please email me for the file.
I have other spreadsheet generators. Karen's Double Boot pattern, Mitten, Shaped Headband, Converting from one gauge to another, Tube Sock and Buttonhole Spacing
If you don't have Excel, then you can use Open Office that is donation ware to view.
Small Christmas Stocking for Decoration pattern.
Small Christmas Stocking
Standard Gauge Machine ~ TD8 (Bulky ~ TD5)
Gauge: Not really that important to get this gauge exact, just make sure you have a nice stitch, not too loose and not too tight.
Using 3/15 coned yarn (Worsted Weight yarn)
Cast on 34 (16) sts loosely.
Work 24 (12) rows.
Hang first row to form folded hem.
Work 32 (16) rows for leg.
Put one half of stitches to Hold, set carriage to Hold
Heel:
Short row down on side with needles in WP only
For the standard, until 5 stitches each side are brought to HP and 7 sts still in WP.
For the bulky, until 3 stitches each side are brought to HP and 2 stitches still in WP.
Reverse short row until all wrapped stitches are back to Work.
Now take carriage off of hold and continue Knit 12 (6) rows.
Toe: Same as Heel
Finishing
Graft sts using Kitchener Stitch.
Weave in ends.
Of course you can have the folded hem either in rib or white, then have the rest of the stocking another color like red or green, your choice on that.
Here is a photo of Tammy's small Christmas Stocking being used to hold the eating utensils. She plans on the whole table being that way, I think that is superb. She also made her own claw weights.
